This captures the love of birds named River and Rain. The story tells that it was truly love at first sight and they fell hard. I knew I wanted to paint these cuties and show off the beauty of their love.
The author says, "A bird that shows signs of sickness or injury is often run off or attacked by the flock. They do this because that bird is likely to attract predators. River never attacked Rain when she got sick. He tried to feed her through the plexiglass when I had to isolate her. Then when she rejoined the flock, he couldn’t stop preening, feeding, and cuddling her. Such a special kind of love these two had. They didn’t have a lot of time together in this life, but I’m convinced their souls will meet again."
